In addition to the creation of new homes, 160 government rental homes will be returned to us once the three estates are completed. This means that many hundreds of families who are unable to afford new affordable homes will be able to upgrade to a larger home than they currently have. This will be possible as a result of our careful and diligent reorganisation strategy for government housing. For instance, families who need a three bedroom will be able to leave behind their two bedroom home and upgrade. At the same time, a family needing a two bedroom will be able to move into the newly released two bedroom home and so on.

Refurbishments to Existing Estates
The GSLP Liberals have dedicated significant efforts and resources to renovate and refurbish the ‘forgotten estates’.
Have all been completely refurbished with lifts being installed in many of them including Glacis Estate, Alameda Estate, Laguna and Moorish Castle. We have significantly progressed on our refurbishment plan however there is still work to do. The government will be building pensioner flats which will be available for sale to those of pensionable age.
